Lotta Carswell Hume lived in western China for over twenty-two years and during that time she heard and collected many of the traditional tales of China and Tibet. Lo Koon-chiu is a well-known children's book artist and a graduate from the Canton Technical College of Arts. Lo Koon-chiu also studied drawing and water color under a number of famous Chinese painters. Lo Koon-chiu has supplied more than ninety beautiful illustrations, all done in the classic Chinese brush style, to give this book a wonderful visual charm.
